Focus Group Discussion, Faculty of Ushuluddin, Khozinatul Ulum Islamic Institute, Blora: Improving Study Program Quality and Optimization PMB 2025/2026
Blora, 26 November 2024 – Ushuluddin Faculty, Khozinatul Ulum Islamic Institute, Blora, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which discusses various important issues related to academic and institutional development. This FGD was held at Saung Mekarsari Karangjati and was attended by the Dean, Head of IAT Study Program, and Head of ILHA Study Program, teaching lecturers, and chairman of LPPM, with the aim of strengthening the quality of study program accreditation and moving towards a faculty with integrity.
One of the main topics in this discussion is strategies towards superior accreditation for Study Programs (Study Program) Knowledge of the Qur'an and Tafsir (IAT). Dean of the Ushuluddin Faculty, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mufid, Lc., M.S.I. stated that superior accreditation is the main target in order to increase the competitiveness of the IAT Study Program at the national level. “We are committed to continuing to improve the quality of education and research in the IAT Study Program, and ensure that teaching is based on competencies that are relevant to current developments,he said.
The next topic which is no less important is the placement of two new lecturers who will strengthen the Ushuluddin Faculty. Moh. Abdul Aziz Sahlan, S.Th.I., M.Ag., who has a strong background in the field of interpretation, and Naila Intania, M.Pd. who is competent in the field of English, officially placed in this Faculty. It is hoped that their presence can make a significant contribution to the learning process as well as the development of research and writing journal articles in the IAT and Hadith Science Study Program. (ILHA). “With the experience and expertise they have, We are sure that the quality at the Ushuluddin Faculty will continue to improve,said Prof. Dr. Abdul Mufid.
The FGD also raised the importance of optimizing the New Student Admissions process (PMB) for the academic year 2025/2026. The Ushuluddin Faculty is committed to attracting quality prospective students through various promotional strategies and improving information services. Chairman of the PMB FU Committee, Moh. Abdul Aziz Sahlan, S.Th.I., M.Ag., explain, "We will pick up the ball by outreaching to schools and Islamic boarding schools as well as utilizing digital platforms and various social media to reach potential prospective students, and provide a clearer understanding of the study programs at the Ushuluddin Faculty."
Do not miss, Evaluation of the PKAT IAT and ILHA study programs is also on the agenda in this FGD. The Faculty emphasizes the importance of implementing PKAT seriously, so that it can be held accountable academically when monitoring and evaluation is carried out (monev). This discussion aims to ensure that every activity held can have a positive impact on developing student competencies and support the faculty's vision and mission.
With a variety of productive discussions, It is hoped that the Ushuluddin Faculty of the Khozinatul Ulum Blora Islamic Institute can continue to progress and develop, and make a real contribution to the world of Islamic education in Indonesia.
