IAIKUPers- Student Association of Hadith Science Study Program (HMPS ILHA) UIN Sheikh Wasil Kediri successfully held a Hadith Talkshow event titled “Transformation of young people in the digital age”, Wednesday, 28 Mei 2025. Located in the Fuda Floor Hall 3, This activity presents special speakers, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mufid, Lc., M.S.I., Professor of Hadith Science as well as Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin Institute of Islamic Religion Khozinatul Ulum Blora.
More than 100 Student Study Program Hadith packed the hall to listen directly. Abdul Mufid. The atmosphere of the talkshow feels warm and full of enthusiasm, reflects the enthusiasm of the younger generation in exploring the values of hadith in the midst of the challenges of the digital era.
In his presentation, Prof. Abdul Mufid opened on theological basis of youth transformation. It collects qs. Al-kahfi ayat 13 who talks about young people, as well as the Prophet's hadith narrated by Ahmad and Ath-Thabrani, which shows God's admiration for young people who can keep themselves from lust.
"The digital era is a double -edged knife. On the one hand full of threats, On the other hand holds a golden opportunity. Hadith is a moral compass that will guide us in the midst of the swift flow of information and value disruption,"said Prof. Abdul Mufid in a firm but friendly tone.
He stressed the importance of making the hadith a guide in facing the challenges of the times such as the spiritual crisis, instant culture, and the phenomenon of toxic digital culture. According to him, The younger generation must be based on the noble values sourced from the Prophet's words to build morals, ethics, and social responsibility in cyberspace.
But not only the dark side, Prof. Abdul Mufid also reviewed the bright potential of the digital age: Access to Islamic knowledge is increasingly open, extensive creative da'wah space, and stretching digitalization of the growing hadith. He encouraged students to be active as a polite Islamic content creator, educative, and the preaching of the preaching.
“If the Prophet lived in this age, He will surely be wise in social media. We have to follow his morals in every status, comment, and our upload,he said, welcomed by a nod in agreement from the participants.
In closing, Prof. Abdul Mufid proposed a concrete strategy for digital transformation based on hadith, such as the revitalization of educational and moral traditions, strengthening character through the sirah of the Prophet, and the need for a critical attitude towards religious content on social media. He also called for a cross -field collaboration between scholars, academy, and content creators to disseminate moderate and humanist Islamic values.
This event does not only enrich student academic insight, but also stimulates collective awareness to make the digital era a charity and preaching farm. Student Study Program Hadith is invited not only to be a connoisseur of content, but also a gesture in creating a more civilized and moral digital world.
With a spirit of transformation and prophetic spirit, Muslim young generation is now challenged to write a new history: Become a lamp in the darkness of the virtual universe.
