IAIKUPers- Saturday (17/5/2025), Media Center Islamic Religious Institute (IAI) Khozinatul Ulum Blora successfully held a journalistic workshop titled "Ngonten Smart, Writing deftly: Gen Z Journalism Workshop which took place lively in the campus auditorium. This event was followed by 15 Participants selected from various faculties, After going through a tight selection from 20 registrar.
This workshop presents the main resource person Hery Purnomo, Contributor of iNews TV (MNC Media Group) as well as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Journalists Association (Priestless) Blora Regency. In the presentation of the material, Hery thoroughly peeling the ins and outs of the world of journalism, Starting from news writing techniques, Effective interview, to the importance of upholding the journalistic code of ethics.
"The title must be able to summarize the core of the news clearly and interesting. While leads only contain core information with a language style that can arouse interest in reading,"Hery explained in the material session.
He also stressed the importance of logical news structures, Effective use of language, as well as a prohibition on using tools such as AI or chatgpt in writing journalistic news. Besides that, Hery reminded that a journalist must present factual information, be responsible, and upholds public interests without any party intervention.
The enthusiasm of the participants looked high during the workshop. Many participants actively ask questions and discuss directly with the speaker.
Tyara Indira Pytaloka, Sharia Business Management Students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), claimed to be very inspired by this activity.
"The material is very useful and relevant, Moreover, the speakers are very experienced. I better understand the importance of integrity and professionalism in presenting news,he said.
In line with that, Ika Nurdiana Princess, also from Febi, Assess this workshop as the right momentum to learn to write news directly from the experts.
"Exposure to the material is very detailed and easy to understand. I am happy because there will be direct practice guided by the resource person,” he said.
The event was closed with the surrender of souvenirs by Yusron Ridho, As the head of the committee, to the speaker Hery Purnomo, followed by a photo session with all participants and committee.
This workshop is proof of the commitment of IAI Khozinatul Ulum Blora in equipping the younger generation, especially Gen Z students with journalistic skills that are not only capable, but also ethical.
